There are many places in Medellín and surroundings full of beauty and not very visited for tourists, here we’ll share with you 5 –not so popular- things to do in our city, which are an excellent option to visit after Covid pandemia, let’s start!
1. Walk around “El Jardín Circunvalar”:
One of the best miradors in Medellín, located in the Comuna 8, Villa Hermosa. This turistic corridor counts with several paths to enjoy the skyline of the city or even hike to the top of Pan de Azucar Mountain. Ideal for photography and nature lovers, and the best of all, very close to the city center!
2. Go to “El Salto del Buey” waterfall
This natural wonder with a fall deeper than 80 meters is located in the border of the towns La Ceja and Abejorral, 2 hours away from Medellín. After a short but difficult trekk you can reach the base, where the strength of the water and the green landscape full of mountains will leave you speechless.
3. Do the Tranvía de Ayacucho tour
Riding on Medellín’s tramp is itself a very nice and cultural experience. Different artists made huge paintings and graffitis Through all the tram stations, making this trip a very colorful one. Walking around these streets to take pictures and enjoy the atmosphere in Buenos Aires neighborhood is very recommended plan to do during a day in the city.
4. Hike the Paramo de Belmira
Just 2 hours away from Medellín is located the town of Belmira, which has in its land, the Paramo “Santa Inés”. This hike full of diversity in animals and plants, makes us connect with nature and understand the importance of the paramo in the generation of water and rivers for our city. If you are an ecoturism lover this is a trip very close to the city that you shouldn’t miss.
5. Do the Alpujarra Circuit
Counting with many sights nearby such as the Antioquia railway, “El parque de las Luces”, The government buildings, “Parques del Río”, “Parque de los Pies Descalzos“ and the intelligent building, among others, this is a patrimonial and interesting area to enjoy during one day in the city.
