Medejazz 2019 will be held from September 7 to 16. The traditional programming includes 19 groups, 10 concerts, seven with free admission, more than 140 artists on stage, among singers and instrumentalists of various musical genres such as Jazz, Afro-Cuban Jazz, Free Jazz, Jazz Fusion, Salsa and Colombian Music, and from multiple countries such as Cuba, the United States, Puerto Rico, Italy, Mali, Switzerland, Spain, Brazil and Colombia

The twenty-third version of the “Medellín International Jazz & Music Festival of the World” renews this year its commitment to deliver to the city of Medellin a diversity of sonorities developed by leading artists and bands, within the national and international framework


Medejazz agenda 2019

Master classes and concerts with free admission

Within the framework of Medejazz 2019, musicians and fans in general will enjoy master classes completely free, from several of the artists who will be part of the Festival. The talks will be held at Casa de La Música – EPM Foundation in Parque de los Pies Delcalzos. World-class musicians will share with attendees all their knowledge and skills.  The Cuban pianists Ernán and Harold López Nussa will participate; drummers Ruy Francisco and Ruy Adrián López Nussa; the trumpeter Mayquel González and the saxophonist Paquito D’ Rivera.

Within the agenda of Medejazz 2019, seven concerts with free admission will also be held, the three stages for these concerts are Claustro Comfama San Ignacio, Sura Stage at the Botanical Garden and Olaya Herrera Airport.

The stages in this new edition of Medejazz 2019 are the City Hall of the Rodeo Club, Claustro Comfama San Ignacio, Sura Stage at the Botanical Garden as part of Books and Culture Festival, the Olaya Herrera Airport and the Metropolitan Theater

In addition, for the first time in Medellín and from Brazil, Caetano Veloso, joined by his sons Moreno, Zeca and Tom Veloso will be part of the agenda
