Medellín Design Week, design, education and industry

Medellín Design Week (MDW), the annual event held in Medellín, has become the space where professionals, students and design enthusiasts at the national and international level can meet, share knowledge, co-create, have discussions, do business and alliances around innovative proposals in creative areas such as: Product Design, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Audiovisual Design, Architecture, Augmented Reality and much more

During the past four years, the event has had more than six thousand attendees in each of its activities and more than 100 creative spaces related to design, business, exhibition and knowledge transfer. MDW stands out as a growing project with an interest in positioning design and art as relevant professions in the country’s economy.

Medellín Design Week follows an event format that takes place in the main cities of the world and to which Medellín, and its industry in this area, joins to publicize and boost the talent of new designers, artists and creative talent


The agenda:

Medellín Design Week 2019 will be held from August 28 to September 1 and will feature various events such as presentations, business meetings, exhibitions, forums, parties and many more facets of design, art and architecture at Bodega Central facilities

Business Design Meeting, an encounter between the design and business guild who visit us, in order to impart knowledge of the companies and business growth to the creative and design industry. NOI Coworking, Calle 17 # 43F-287, Medellín, Antioquia

Conferences, developed throughout the day, where national and international design experts will share their experiences and thoughts regarding the current and future design at University of Medellin

Bodega Central, this year will host an artistic exhibition where participating companies or designers will deliver a 100% self-made piece. It will be in the basement of the Click Clack Hotel

Workshops, spaces that promote learning and co-creation, led by national and international guests, will offer participants a unique and personalized experience, all of which will be held at NOI Coworking


International recognition

MDW is already among the best events of its kind to be visited in the world, according to Dezeen Magazine in London, one of the invited international media participants. Its international recognition it has scaled to the next level, which has become a strategic ally and partner of Domus Academy, one of the most recognized design schools in Europe, and the international design fair Wanted Design in New York, where they have promoted more than 30 Colombian design companies. Likewise, the MDW is part of the World Design Weeks and has been curator at the London Design Biennial

This event is an effort to connect designers, companies, academia and government in order to generate sustainable cultural, commercial and creative growth, promoting the orange economy, knowledge generation and economic development of the guild
