Folkloric Ballet of Antioquia
The Folkloric Ballet of Antioquia Corporation is a non-profit organization, established more than 27 years ago with the mission of working for the rescue and projection of the cultural traditions of our country, through different dance techniques.
In 1991, this story begins with the founder Albeiro Roldán Penagos and a group of talented dancers of the city, with the purpose of being the best cultural ambassadors of Colombia for the world. Countries such as China, Japan, France, Spain, Russia, Mexico, the United States, Cuba, Arab Emirates, among others, have discovered a multicultural Colombia through the energy and love that we transmit in each set-up.
Our artistic quality has made us worthy of important prizes Gold Medal World Olympics of Stylized Folklore, Dijon, France. First place, in the Castillo de Gorizia Festival, Italy and some awards from the Government of Colombia giving it the character of National Cultural Heritage. We represented Colombia in the Olympic Games of Beijing 2008 and in the 100 years celebration of bilateral relations between Colombia and Japan. In 2012, we received standing ovations from over 40,000 spectators in the United States for 54 days and 29 cities visited.
Our Tierradentro musical group celebrates 12 years of experience, in which its musicians have dedicated themselves to researching and playing Afro-Colombian music, which they have taken to more than 15 countries in Europe, Asia and America. In 2014, they won the Cubadisco International Prize.
We have our Dance Training School, the line of professional vocation to which the Elencos belong, where we offer a comprehensive education proposal aimed at children, youth and adults; we train people to develop their dancing skills, teamwork, valuing themselves and society, through the different courses and methodologies offered in class. We constantly design new strategies for each of our Business Units, to have an accessible offer where multiculturalism, inclusion and diversity are inherent in our daily work.
Several shows have been part of our repertoire, among the most important are:COLOMBIA
VIVA, VEN A MEDELLÍN; and ASÍ ES COLOMBIA; they all pay homage to the different regions of Colombia through dance, music and traditions.
