Pequeño Teatro of Medellin, which was founded in 1975, is declared cultural heritage of the city and is located in a republican-style house that is architectural heritage of Medellín. Its central patio has a bicentennial palm tree surrounded by a cultural setting that consists of two theater halls, the headquarter building of the Actors’ Training School, a specialized library, an exhibition hall and a cozy café.
The two theater halls run simultaneously throughout the year from Tuesdays to Saturdays, offering a varied repertoire of the performing arts with its own plays, plays performed by guest troupes that become the epicenter of theater festivals on a seasonal basis.
The free entry with voluntary contribution implemented since 2002, is a permanent challenge for the appreciation of arts by visitors, an ingenious audience training strategy, but it is mainly the access door to art expressions available to everyone.
Since it is located a block away from the Pabellón del Agua stop of Ayacucho tram, people can access it in a quick, comfortable and economical manner from any corner of the metropolitan area through the integrated transport system of the Aburrá Valley.
