MAMM (Museum of Modern Art of Medellin)
Since its foundation in 1978, the MAMM has made efforts to be a living, urban and current museum, and a place for meetings, knowledge and enjoyment that encompasses contemporary and diverse artistic and cultural expressions. For three decades, our headquarters was located in a building in Carlos E. Restrepo neighborhood. In 2009, as recognition of almost 30 years of activity, the Talleres Robledo building was granted by the Mayor’s Office of Medellín to the MAMM.
This building was the former steel company built in 1938 and it is located in Ciudad del Río, one of the industrial areas at the south of Medellin. The MAMM expansion was opened to the public in 2015. It not only expanded physically but in terms of its content, scope and commitment to the cultural development of the city and the country.
The museum can be accessed by Metro, getting off at Industriales station, the Encicla system to Ciudad del Río or bus lines that travel along Las Vegas avenue.
