Pablo Tobón Uribe Theater
It is an emblematic cultural center of Medellin, located on La Playa Avenue. An open-door theater that links Antioquia’s regions to the center of the city based on its varied and permanent programming.
The Theater was founded in 1952 thanks to its sponsor Pablo Tobón Uribe, who donated the land for its construction. Renowned Nel Rodriguez was responsible for the architectural design of the building. It keeps a seamless programming since 1967 with a wide cultural offer. Music, theater, dance, academic events, film and visual arts take place in the only theater in the country that has a beach in the mountains.
