Pedro Nel Gómez House Museum
The museum headquarters is the house where Pedro Nel Gómez and his family lived since 1936. It was declared a museum in 1975 and the artist continued to live there until the day of his death. Since then, locals and foreign visitors have walked along its bedrooms, rooms and hallways. They are amazed at the fresco murals, watercolors and oil paintings that decorate the house.
This place has approximately 1,500 works of Pedro Nel Gomez, one of the most prominent visual artists of the 20th century in the city. It also has murals that reflect and depict historical times of the country and Antioquia’s traditions.
Visitors can enjoy the works, and access the library that has over 500 architecture, painting and sculpture books. The museum consists of 10 exhibition rooms and areas for gatherings to talk about art. A museum that will make you travel back in time and feel that everything has endured over the years.
