Sweet Fair sweetens the Flower Festival in Plaza Mayor
The fifth edition of Sweet Fair will take place in Plaza Mayor, Medellín between August 8 and 11: an chance to experience the sweet world of emotions, with the presence of approximately 100 exhibitors and activities for professionals and families who love the universe of pastry, bakery, chocolate and cake design.
For more than 50 hours, live demonstrations will allow attendees to approach the sweet taste of emotions, experiencing products of the different brands that participate in the show by chefs, technicians and master experts in ice cream, chocolate, pastry, bakery, cake design and conscious pleasures.
The V International Cake Design Contest is the major entertainment attraction of the show. With the participation of 10 teams from different areas of the region, the excitement will be continuously experienced in a space where all the attendees can see how the contestants create, from scratch, 100% edible artistic pieces. It is a mix between creativity, engineering and the combination of different techniques that make up Cake Design.
More than 20 national and international experts will participate in the Sweet Fair, among them Carlos Lischetti, a passionate about pastry and cake decorating coming from Argentina to share his talent in sugar modeling, which began more than 25 years ago in his house in Rosario, Argentina.
Ana Ruiz, who has managed to position herself as one of the best chefs in the culinary art industry and one of the most prominent cake designers in Latin America and the world. This year she was a jury of the famous Netflix documentary ¡Nailed it! México.
Another novelty will be the presence of Lulú Lucero, who also arrives from Mexico to share her knowledge and modeling career that has led her to be one of the most representative professionals of this technique, thanks to her work modeling of renowned movie characters.
One of the main attractions for visitors is the Dessert and Candy Market, a place where everyone can enjoy a world of flavors, which this year will have a wide range of desserts, cakes, breads, ice creams and chocolates.
