Museum of Modern Art of Medellín

The Museum of Modern Art of Medellín (MAMM) is a must-visit for anyone who loves cinema, architecture, and design. At this cultural hub, you can enjoy panoramic views of Medellín while immersing yourself in a space where art and culture take center stage.

You’ll be captivated by its modern architecture, featuring concrete and metal structures, floating staircases, and a terrace offering stunning views of the city. Additionally, the museum is surrounded by green spaces that occasionally host bazaars, concerts, and outdoor film screenings. Nearby, you’ll find a diverse array of dining options at Mercados del Río, an open area filled with a variety of restaurants to suit all tastes.

What to Do at the MAMM

The museum features a large square that frequently hosts concerts, film screenings, and other cultural events. Inside, there’s a study room where you can read, research, or work, with access to archives and a library specializing in contemporary art.

You can also visit the museum’s theater, which serves as a cinema. During the pandemic, the museum launched a virtual room to expand its cultural offerings, allowing visitors to rent or buy films from a curated selection of Colombian, independent, auteur, experimental, and documentary films. Check the film schedule here.

Don’t forget to stop by the museum store, where you’ll find a range of items including jewelry, stationery, leather goods, accessories, home decor, and unique pieces by local artists. It’s the perfect place to pick up a special souvenir that captures the essence of Medellín.
