The Pablo Tobón Uribe theater is a cultural landmark in Medellín, located on Avenida La Playa. With its open-door policy, it serves as a vibrant connector between the Antioquia region and Medellín’s downtown, offering a wide variety of programming year-round.

Founded in 1952, the theater was made possible by Pablo Tobón Uribe, who generously donated the land for its construction. Designed by renowned architect Nel Rodríguez, it has continuously hosted performances since 1967. The theater’s rich lineup includes music, theater, dance, films, academic events, and visual arts. Uniquely, it’s the only theater in Colombia described as having a “beach in the mountains.”
