Avenida Jardín
Avenida Jardín winds from north to south, emerging as a spine linking the two main parks of Laureles neighborhood. This avenue has large, leafy trees spreading their branches and concealing their enormous roots that throb under the asphalt. More than 40 restaurants of all kinds are part of this street. Further down, crossing the famous circular streets that surround the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, you’ll find a lot of clothing and footwear stores showing the talent of young Paisa designers.
- Walking or riding a bike are great experiences in Laureles neighborhood, as there are no difficult hills.
- This shaded corridor was designed by the artist and architect Pedro Nel Gómez in the early twentieth century, who dreamed of a garden city.
- The best time to visit the clothing stores is between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Right after that, you can enjoy the restaurants, most of which are open until 10:00 p.m.
- It’s the only area of the city that has so many circular and diagonal streets, in addition to the normal streets and avenues that form Medellín. But don’t worry, if you get lost, you’ll surely end up discovering a hidden gem that you didn’t expect.
